Interface with the Clinical Core Laboratory
The Ponce School of Medicine has an RCMI-funded
Core Laboratory of over 2,000 sq. ft under the direction of Dr.
Yasuhiro Yamamura that will integrate as a unit of the PRCTRC-CL
(PRCTRC-CL-PSM). There are multiple collaborations between investigators
at the UPR Medical Science Campus and the PSM that are ongoing.
For example, there are collaborations in which investigators at
the UPR-MSC are sending samples to the facilities of the Ponce
School of Medicine (PSM) laboratory for clinical analysis. In
addition to HIV, HCV and HPV molecular and cellular diagnostics,
the PRCTRC-CL-PSM will have available real time RT-PCR and micro
arrays chemiluminescence’s detection systems for protein
arrays services. These will be available to other clinical and
translational science researchers of the PRCTRC-CL.
